Yamei Contributes to China-Mauritania Anti-Malaria Cooperation

Case details and article content

Time:11 July 2025

On July 11, 2025, the handover ceremony for the first batch of China’s emergency aid of 900,000 long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets (LLINs) to Mauritania was held in Nouakchott. As the manufacturer of this aid shipment, we at Yamei are deeply honored and proud—our LLINs have been officially delivered to Mauritania’s health authorities and will be urgently distributed to the eight provinces with the highest malaria transmission risk.

Since the fourth quarter of 2024, Mauritania has seen a sharp rise in malaria infection rates, with prevention and control efforts facing severe challenges. We fully understand that every mosquito net carries the heavy responsibility of protecting lives. Our nets feature a long-lasting pyrethroid-based insecticide treatment recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), providing sustained mosquito-killing and repellent effects even after repeated washing, thereby offering longterm, effective protection for local communities.

The total of 900,000 nets—with an initial emergency shipment of 440,000—represents far more than a number; it reflects Yamei’s commitment and sense of responsibility to global public health. We are truly encouraged to take part in the health cooperation under the ChinaMauritania strategic partnership and to support Mauritania’s National Malaria Elimination Programme with highquality products.

Looking ahead, Yamei will continue to dedicate itself to the insectproof net sector, delivering superior products to serve the global fight against malaria and bring health and hope to more communities in need.
